Seán
O'Riordan
(Galway, IE)
Seán is an Irish artist whose practice encompasses sculpture, writing, graphic design, and digital-processes. They hold an MA from the Sandberg Instituut in Amsterdam (NL) where they graduated with a degree in Fine Art and Design and a BA from the National College of Art and Design in Dublin (IE) where they graduated with a degree in Fine Art.
Their practice revolves around the politics of perceptibility exploring issues of opacity and fragmentation through the lens of value, sexuality, magic, communication and language.
This is often done by examining linguistic, material, & sexual economies, attempting to reconcile issues of individual & collective Queer value.
A topical interest is the ways historical systems, economies & societal roles are reflected in the present and brings together detailed handmade artefact & digital outcomes to generate both large and small scale works and installations.
